Project Description

Through this proposal Manitoba Habitat Heritage Corporation (MHHC) will secure breeding habitats that will benefit waterfowl and other wetland dependent birds that also use wintering habitat along the Gulf of Mexico coast of the United States. Using fee simple acquisition and perpetual conservation easements, MHHC's securement work will provide perpetual protection of breeding habitat for populations of 16 priority species that are known to winter in the Gulf region. Focal species will include four priority "oiled birds” and 12 other "priority species”.
