Project Description

Protect and enhance existing resources in the Turkey Creek watershed with land conservation, land restoration (including restoring coastal wetland habitat), and stream restoration objectives. All components would result in an initiation of restoration of the natural hydrologic connections from the creek's headwaters to the Back Bay of Biloxi. By addressing issues from a watershed perspective we can begin to address habitat and water quality issues associated with our coastal bays and estuaries such as the Back Bay of Biloxi, an estuary which historically produced oysters.
