Project Description

The purpose of the project is to manage salinities being introduced through the Calcasieu Ship Channel into adjacent water bodies to reduce the rate of wetland loss in the surrounding wetlands. Restoring this coastal ecosystem and lowering the risk associated with sea level rise, subsidence, and tropical events along the coast will also improve the long-term economic health of the region.
