Project Description

Purchase approximately 1,682 acres on South Padre Island from the Laurence Jones family, of which NFWF GEBF will provide funding for 1,000 acres, for the appraised value of $2,500 per acre. Subsequently transfer ownership of the land to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) for inclusion in the adjacent Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge.
